What is the conversation machine?
our design studio took a bus and made a small trip to jerusalem.
A city that in my mind takes the impossible title of ugly- beautiful.
(which means its stunning, sometimes stunning like a image of god dancing and something stunning like a rock in the head, it depands on the day and place)
the famous jerusalem stone is, surprise surprise, not from jerusalm. here is my proof : the internet never lies, kids
to the point... the stone, in my opinion, is not very inviting. every house looks like a fortress. which is a place where they throw hot oil at you for knocking at the door and surround the house with hungry aligators.
so, the conversation machine is made out of wood. a warm material. its alive, its inviting. even weapons that are made out of wood are less threatening.
the machine rises a point,
how it is that its easier to me to speak with people (enemies?) from Iran, Iraq and whatever favorite terror flavore of the month, by using the internet.
I say my name, age and my hobby and all bounderies are erased.
in jerusalem, the neighbors are less communicative. the diversity is meaningless if there is zero communication. our guide said its all about people, so, I'm bringing it down into the basics:
the conversation machine offers food. it offers notes and writing tools. it offers a manuvarable chairs that makes a gradual intimicy. because man is also a machine, that eats, talk and touch. so I'm attemping to combine the two. with a few prototypes for a few possibilities.
I'm viewing this as a possible detail for the final result of the studio. a building. that will act with the same priciples as the conversation machine. to exploit what man is meant to do, communicte. and not with the screen but with the mouth.
